Similar to the recent storm tore through the north-west the previous evening, Manchester City blew the visitors away at the Etihad Stadium. It was a convincing three-nil triumph for the City coach's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that truly announced their championship potential as they consolidated their position at the league summit.

Successive Defeats for United

This result represented successive league setbacks for Marc Skinner’s side for the first time since spring 2024, putting them seven points off the top team with their title hopes severely dented.

Manchester United's capacity to manage domestic and continental football with a limited squad has been a widely debated topic since they secured entry to the UCL.
